Requirements *New for 2024* Non-members and Open & Nursery dogs without 5 Qualifying Runs (collectively “Non-Qualifiers”) will be allowed to compete in the State Finals in the Open and Nursery classes, but will not be eligible to become the TSDA State champion in either class. In addition, Open Class Non-Qualifiers will not be eligible to compete in the double lift final.
To be eligible for the State Finals a dog competing in Open Ranch, Ranch and Novice Classes must compete in 5 TSDA trials (each trial a “Qualifying Run”) in its class during the year of the State Finals. The Handler must be a paid member prior to going to the post to be considered a Qualifying Run and before the dog can earn Dog of the Year points.

Premium Payback Payback is "after expenses" and based on the number of dogs to leave the post and TSDA guidelines. Only two premiums per handler per class will be paid. Open: 25% - 1st round; 25% - 2nd round; 50% to Double Lift All other classes: 30% - 1st round; 30% - 2nd round; 40% - Combined Score
TSDA Points Points will be based on the combined scores of the two runs.
